COVID-19 Updates

Testing

We offer COVID-19 PCR and rapid 15-minute testing. Only those who have been sick within the past 7 days are eligible for the rapid test. This means symptoms like fever, chills, body aches, and loss of smell or taste. PCR testing turnaround time is currently around 3 days. All patients are screened prior to entering the clinic and must wear a face covering.

Vaccination

We have run out of our allocation of COVID-19 vaccine. We are unable to schedule any initial-dose appointments at this time, so please do not call for an appointment. As soon as more vaccine becomes available, we will update this message.

Appointments for the SECOND dose of the COVID-19 vaccine are available for patients who received their initial dose from MedCenter. A minimum of 28 days must have passed — as written on your vaccine record card — before the second dose can be given. It can be given several months later, so there is no need to come in exactly four weeks after the first dose. Please bring your vaccination record card, government-issued ID, and insurance information with you.

The MedCenters of Santa Barbara

The MedCenters have cared for the Santa Barbara community with 3 urgent and primary care offices for more than 30 years. We have extended night and weekend hours and provide walk in and scheduled appointments. Originally designed to avoid the long wait and high cost of an emergency room visit we have evolved into a full spectrum, integrated primary care practice. Our goal is to be like your old fashioned family doctor, but with modern facilities and an onsite lab and X-ray. Why wait for weeks to see a doctor when you need one now! You can make an appointment for the same day, for any time convenient for you or just walk in—seven days a week!

All patients are seen by a physician, physician assistant, or nurse practitioner trained in family practice, internal medicine or emergency medicine. We are here when you need us most. Let us be your personal doctor or treat your urgent medical need and follow up closely with your doctor. Our offices are spacious, comfortable and private. Our friendly staff strives to keep your wait to a minimum. We accept most major insurances and provide Urgent Care services to Santa Barbara Select IPA HMO and CenCal Health patients.
